Presenting the 2009
People Helping People Awards

A Sacramento Tradition for 21 years!

Businesses and Individuals throughout the Sacramento Region demonstrate commitment to community service every day. But too often these good deeds go unrecognized. In 1989, the Community Services Planning Council initiated the People Helping People Awards to promote community service and to assure that the civic contributions of time, talent and resources by businesses, civic organizations and individuals were honored and encouraged.

The 2009 People Helping People Awards luncheon is scheduled for April 22, 2009, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel Sacramento.  The deadline for nominations for a People Helping People Award is January 23, 2009.  All nominees will be recognized at the event, and again this year, winners will be featured in an article in the June 2009 issue of Sacramento Magazine.

The 2008 event drew more than 600 Sacramento area business and community leaders to honor the 70 plus nominated companies, civic organizations and individuals for their exemplary service to the community. These organizations and individuals set the standard for all of us.

Twelve of the nominees were honored with a 2008 People Helping People Award. Award winners included Bank of America, Home Depot, Deloitte LLP Sacramento Office, McNally Temple Associates, Jeanne Reaves, Kelly Brothers, Sister Mary Redempta Scannell, RSM, David Fiddyment and John Piches, Jessica Jorgensen, Active 20-30 Sacramento No. 1 Club & Active 20-30 International, and Junior League of Sacramento.
Proceeds from the People Helping People Awards event benefit Hands On Sacramento and 2-1-1 Sacramento.
