Please join the Sacramento County Children’s Coalition
and other community leaders committed to improving the health, well-being
and safety of Sacramento’s children at the 5th Biennial Children’s
Report Card Briefing. Together we will celebrate the release of the
2008 edition of the Sacramento County Children’s Report Card.
The Children’s Coalition is an advisory body to
the Board of Supervisors charged with assessing community needs, evaluating
existing services and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors
and other policy-making bodies to promote the health and well being
of children and families in Sacramento County. Every two years, the
Coalition publishes the Children's Report Card, a comprehensive report
highlighting the changing conditions of children and families in the
county. The report provides a guide for policy development to improve
the status of Sacramento’s children.
The Children’s Report Card Briefing will include
a presentation of the report along with guest speakers and discussions
regarding the implications of report findings. Additional discussions
will explore the development of a strategic report card marketing plan
to targeted populations. By engaging government agencies, business leaders,
public and private organizations, faith-based community and youth leaders,
the Summit will provide opportunities for participants to share their
perspectives, gain new perspectives, and review the County’s progress
towards advancing a collective agenda for children and families.
As a community
leader, your support and participation at the briefing is important
to the Children’s Coalition. Please join us on Friday,
November 21, 2008 for brunch from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.
at Sierra Health Foundation at 1321 Garden Highway, Sacramento
CA 95833. We would be delighted to present the Report Card to your staff
and Board of Directors upon your request. For more information, please
contact Nancy Bui at (916) 447-7063 ext. 368 or nbui@communitycouncil.org.
