Shots for Tots Regional Coalition

Two out of five two-year-olds are not fully immunized and are at
risk for childhood diseases. The Shots for Tots Regional Coalition
was established in 1994 by the Community Services Planning Council
and the Sacramento County Health Officer to identity and remove
barriers to timely infant/toddler immunization within Sacramento,
El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Yolo, Sutter and Yuba Counties and
consists of health care professionals, community-based
organizations, county representatives and concerned residents.

First Step

First Step is a referral and triage service assisting families delivering babies at local hospitals to connect with home visitation programs.   The program is currently being piloted at UC Davis Medical Center.  First Step determines the programs for which each family is eligible
and connects the family to the program of their choice. The family is also offered referrals to services for immediate needs and given information on the Family Resource Center in their neighborhood.
