The Human Services Coordinating Council (HSCC)
serves as an advisory body to the Sacramento
County Board of Supervisors on matters relating
to health and human services planning and policy
issues. Membership on the Coordinating Council
is by appointment of the Board of Supervisors.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Works cooperatively with related departments and advisory
bodies;
- Ensures integrated human services planning (including the
Human Services Element of the County General Plan);
- Serves as an advisory body to the Sacramento County
Children and Families Commission;
- Reviews and makes recommendations on human services
budget and policy issues;
- Services as a forum for raising community concerns;
- Prioritizes community needs and develops appropriate plans
for addressing them;
- Serves in an oversight capacity for County provided or
funded human service programs
