As
outlined in its bylaws, The HIV Health Services Planning Council
is a 30 member community planning body whose primary responsibilities
include: assessing the needs of people living with HIV in El Dorado,
Placer, Yolo and Sacramento Counties; establishing appropriate
service priorities; and allocating approximately $3.5 million
in federal grant funding (as provided under Part A and B of the
Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act to pay for the
delivery of HIV/AIDS medical and support services for those who
otherwise could not afford such services.
