Child Action - Resource & Referral Program
Makes child care referrals by phone or e-mail; can help with information about child care subsidies; offers free start up training for people interested in becoming child care providers; assists with feasibility studies for those interested in opening child care centers.

Free referrals to the public for licensed family child care providers.

TrustLine Registry
An important tool for parents to use when selecting a caregiver for their children.
TrustLine is a registry for license-exempt child care providers
that may include nannies and babysitters. It provides a unique and useful service to those who wish to have their children cared for in their own homes or in the home of the provider and who wish to check the   potential caregiver's criminal and child abuse record histories.

Free furniture to families in need.

Suited 4 Success/WEAVE Works
One week's clothing suitable for job interview and office work for women and men who are attempting to enter or re-enter the work force. Requires a referral from a social service agency, church or school.  Service by appointment only, referring agency should make the appointment.

School Nutrition and Free- and Reduced-Price School Meal Programs

Obtain information on all public school districts within Sacramento County.  School Districts often have information about services available to
low-income students and their families, including school breakfast, free- and reduced-price meals, and summer lunch programs.
 

Summer Lunch Service Sites within Sacramento County

The Sacramento City and Sacramento County Departments of Parks and Recreation, as well as most school districts operate summer lunch programs for children.  Contact these agencies for more information.

Helps Californians learn about the risks and costs of long-term care and options for protecting themselves from becoming impoverished due to long-term care expenses. Links the State of California with private insurance companies and the California Public.

Access to primary and preventive health care services for uninsured children. (Enrollment closed June 15, 2004.  May reopen in the future).

Sacramento Healthy Kids (Regional Children’s Health Project)

Rancho Cordova Neighborhood Center

WIC, Birth and Beyond, Well-Child Program, eligibility for CalWORKS, MediCal, Food Stamps, and General Assistance, counseling and rehabilitation for drug/alcohol dependency; mental health, dental and medical services; housing, transportation, and utilities assistance; legal
aid referrals.

Health Clinics for Families Without Insurance

Folsom Family Clinic at Theodore Judah Elementary School 
Clinic for people in Folsom who do not have health insurance.  Infant
and child healthcare, general and family medicine, cancer screenings, immunizations, and physical examinations. Treatment of acute illnesses  and minor injuries. Care of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma. Call for information (916) 983-3658.

Drug and alcohol services; immunizations; family planning; children's
